GCPS Parent Surveys - Last Chance
We need your feedback!
Each year GCPS conducts a Parent Perception Survey which is available on the Parent Portal. Once you log-in to your account, the survey should automatically pop up on your screen (make sure your pop-up blocker is turned off if you don't see it).
If you do not have a Parent Portal account, you may visit our front office to complete a Parent Portal form, along with showing a valid ID, and we will get you signed up for an account.
Click here to log-in to your account.
** You may also come in to Dyer Elementary School and take the survey on paper, or on one of our GCPS computers. **

Parents with multiple students are encouraged to join each of their children on his/her designated day for some quality one on one time. That said, we realize this isn't always possible. If that is the case for your family, you may choose which of your children's days works best for your schedule, and then check your other student(s) out and have them join you. After lunch, you can check them back in and send them back to class; just be sure to let your child's teacher know in advance so they are aware.
AUTHOR VISIT ON WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 5, 2018
Dyer Elementary and the Dyer PTO are proud to host Peter Brown, who is the author and illustrator of some of our favorite books.
Peter Brown has always loved using words and pictures to tell stories. His love of visual storytelling led him to study illustration at Art Center College of Design. And when he took his first children’s book class he knew that he’d found his calling.
Since then Peter has published over a dozen books for children. His books have earned him numerous honors, including a Caldecott Honor, a Horn Book Award, two E.B. White Awards, a New York Times Best Illustrated Book award and six NY Times Bestsellers. His titles include My Teacher Is a Monster! (No, I Am Not.), Mr. Tiger Goes Wild, Creepy Carrots!, Children Make Terrible Pets, and The Curious Garden. Peter’s first novel for children, The Wild Robot, was published in 2016, and its sequel, The Wild Robot Escapes, came out in March of 2018.

Birthday Wishes in Big Lights!
We will continue our PAWS program school-wide. The goal of this program is to not only notice positive behavior, but also to reward that behavior. You can help support the funding of this program, and wish your child a happy birthday on our school marquee at the same time. It's a win-win! For a $5 contribution, a Happy Birthday message along with your child's first name and last initial will be displayed on our marquee for three days during the week of your child's birthday. Summer birthday? Not a problem, We will display summer birthday messages during the last week of school and during their birthday week. NOTE: Your child's name will be displayed on their birth date as well as the day immediately before and after. Orders can be placed via Mypaymentsplus.com under the School Events tab.
