RESOURCES TO KEEP HANDY FOR SUMMER
As we begin to prepare for the end of the 2021-2022 school year we are providing important resources shared with us from our partners at Stark Mental Health & Addition Recovery. Among the resources shared here are the Crisis Text Line (4Hope to 741741) anytime day or night, the number to the Stark County Mobile Response Team, as well as useful tips and advice on how to make your home safer for children.
STUFF THE BUS ENDS THIS WEEK
Your donations are needed in all six of our buildings throughout the Jackson Local School District to finish our annual "Stuff the Bus" food drive campaign strong. The last day to send in donations or bring them to school is Thursday, May 12. On Friday May 13, our transportation team will collect all the food from our site and join other Stark County school districts to transport the collection to the new Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank location in Stark County. Last year along, the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank distributed nearly 8 million pounds of food in Stark County, the equivalent of about 6.5 million meals. That is about 20 meals for every person in Stark County.
If you are able to contribute, please bring your canned food items this week. Thank you for your generosity! These donations also help provide food for our families and students in need during the summer. Go Bears!

JACKSON LOCAL SCHOOLS BACKPACK FOOD PROGRAM
We are pleased to be able to offer The Backpack Food Program, in partnership with River Tree Jackson. This is a service for families in the Jackson Local School district with students in K-12. The goal of this program is to send home a variety of easy, ready-to-eat meals and snacks for your child to have over the weekend. There is no cost to our families to join this program. The bags will be delivered to your child’s school weekly and sent home with students on the last day of the week students are in school, usually Fridays.
This program is intended for families whose children are eligible for free/reduced meals. However, we understand some families may not be eligible for the free/reduced meal program, but are still in need of food. If you would like to opt-in, please fill out the google form linked below (one for each student). Please know, all information you share with us is kept in the strictest confidence.
To apply to be part of the Backpack Food Program, all you need to do is fill out the quick application form by clicking the link below: (one for each student). https://forms.gle/D8YbrDZbyoJF2Ts27
