SPECTATORS?

PARENT DROP-OFF REMINDER

Please do your best to pull up as close as possible to the car in front of you. This is especially important when you approach the end of the driveway and your children are getting out of your vehicle. If your child does not need assistance opening your car door, you may tell them to step out when you are near the dumpster area and the sidewalk begins on the right side.

STUDENT ENGAGEMENT SURVEY

During the week of 10/4/21 your student will be participating in a Student Engagement Survey. This survey was written by the district and takes less than 10 minutes to complete. It asks students to respond to questions in areas related to environment, learning, and relationships. Information from this survey is used by teachers and administrators to identify areas of improvement related to the student experience. If you have questions about the survey, please contact Mrs. LaPlant at shaunna.laplant@franklin.k12.wi.us. Thank you.

YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID TRAINING OPPORTUNITY FOR PARENTS & COMMUNITY MEMBERS

As part of a School-Based Mental Health Grant we received as a district, we are excited to offer a Fall and Winter opportunity to train parents and community members in Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA). During the YMHFA course, participants develop an understanding of the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents, the importance of early intervention, and how to help an adolescent in crisis or experiencing a mental health challenge. Participants will engage in a 2-hour self-paced online course followed by a 4.5-hour in-person session with a district trainer on Friday, November 19th from 12-4:30 pm. If you do not have access to needed technology for the online self-paced portion, arrangements can be made to provide you with a device and/or internet access. The deadline to register is Tuesday, October 19th. Please complete this survey to indicate your interest in participating. A confirmation email will be sent to finalize your enrollment in the course and next steps.

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCE SIGN UP - FALL 2021

Dear Country Dale families,

We will be having Parent/Teacher Conferences for 4K through 5th grade on Thursday, October 14th and Tuesday, October 19th from 4:30-8:00 pm. We look forward to having you sign up for a 15-minute time slot on one of these dates.

While conferences are a great time to check in with teachers, please remember that the best communication with parents is communication at the “right time” for the “right reason.” Parents are encouraged to utilize all methods of communication available (i.e. checking PowerSchool, asking students to show what they are doing through Google Classroom, reviewing emails or updates from the teacher, checking child planners, etc) to be informed and active partners in their child’s educational experience.

When signing up for conferences, if you have multiple children in the school, we recommend that you complete this process early for the best chance at grouping your conference times together.

This year, families will have the option for the Parent/Teacher Conferences to be held virtually or in person. If you would like to meet virtually, please add the word VIRTUAL after your Student’s name when you sign up for your child’s conference.

We request that parents who live in separate households schedule just one conference with each child’s teacher. By attending the conference together, we are able to share the same information with both parents at the same time. If this will not be possible for your family, please contact your child’s teacher.

Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. Please use the student name when signing up. Thank you!

PICTURE RE-TAKE DAY

The photographer will return to Country Dale on Thursday, October 21, to take pictures of the students and staff that missed having their picture taken on picture day. They will also do retakes for any new students or students whose pictures did not turn out the first time. If your child needs a picture retake, the complete package needs to be in their hand at the time their photograph is taken. Picture packets will be coming about a week before retakes. At that time parents will also receive an email with a photo proof to look at and view.

Bus Reminders

  • Bus Driver Shortage: Please review this document that we shared on August 31 with all families to make you aware of how a bus driver shortage could impact our bus routes and how we will communicate this with you in the event we can not secure a driver for your child’s route.

  • Bus Riders Wear Masks: Any individual on a school bus (or any public transportation) is federally required to wear a mask. Please make sure your student has a mask before heading to the bus.
