2nd - 5th Grade Meet the Teacher

Thank you to all our Prek, Kindergarten, 1st grade parents, students, teachers and staff members for a smooth Drive By Meet the Teacher!! Through the sun and the rain, we were still all smiles! It was so exciting to see all our incoming young Dragons! We can't wait to see them on the first day of school!

Our 2nd - 5th Grade teachers will be holding a virtual Meet the Teacher on THURSDAY, 8/19, from 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm via Microsoft TEAMS.

Please open the document below for the links to the virtual meetings.

PTO Store

If you already pre-ordered your students' pre-packaged school supplies, they will be delivered directly to the classroom. If you purchased supplies through our Drive By PTO Store yesterday or today, they will also be delivered to the classroom.

HUGE SHOUTOUT to our DYNAMIC PTO VOLUNTEERS for braving the scorching sun and the pouring rain to sell uniform shirts and supplies to our Dragons! The PTO Store will also be open on Monday, August 23 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm (OUTSIDE THE CAFETERIA for ALL GRADES).

First Day of School - August 23

We are so excited to be able to see all our new and returning Dragons this Monday, August 23! Due to the safety guidelines put forth in HISD's Ready, Set, Go Plan, parents will NOT be able to walk their students into class on Monday. As a result, here are a few tips and reminders to help your child have a great first day of school!

  • PreK, PALS, Kindergarten, and 1st Grade Students - Be sure to wear the tags or labels (filled out) you received during the Drive By to school on the first day. Since parents can't walk their students to class, this will help our staff members make sure we help your little ones find their classroom. If you were not able to attend Meet the Teacher to pick up tags/labels, please make any label or sign with your child's first and last name and teacher's name.
  • Talk to your child what drop-off will look like. All students will have their temperatures taken as they exit the car.
  • Both drop-off and pick-up will take a much longer time than usual the first few weeks. Please be patient as our staff members are working as quickly and SAFELY as we can! We promise we don't want carpool to last any longer than it needs to either. :)

Ready Set Go Plan

The Houston Independent School District has updated its Ready, Set, Go! Back to School Plan and strengthened its protocols to ensure in-person experiences are as safe as possible during the 2021-2022 school year. Please click on the green bar below for the full plan.

HISD will continue to monitor local conditions and work closely with local public health officials to prioritize the safety of all students and staff.
