Gladiatorial Games Description

The Gladiatorial games were like minerature wars between trained fighters. The gladiators would fight each other until one had the other stuck in a deadly position. The gladiator had to look up at the emperor before killing the other fighter. The emperor would look and listen to the crowd, and if they gave a thumbs up, the fighter would live. If they turned their thumb down, the gladiator would be killed. In the end, the best gladiators would fight. There is a chance that if they fight equally, they could tie but usually only one lives. Before the games, a group of slaves would come out into the arena and be executed.

The gladiators were both heroes and victims. The definition of a hero is a person, typically a man, who is admired for courage or noble qualities. The gladiators were definitely brave to go out in front of all those people and kill other fighters and slaves. The definition of a victim is a person harmed, injured, or killed as a result of a crime, accident, or other event or action. This practically describes the gladiatorial games. There is killing, injuring, and other greusome actions. The gladiators dont just kill, they are killed also.
