News From Room 211, October 28, 2015
Hello, everyone! I hope all of you had a wonderful, four day weekend. Students were excited to talk about what they did during our morning meeting.
Thanks so very much for supporting the Claxton Fun Run. The children had a wonderful time running and the weather was perfect for spending an extended amount of time outside. If you have not sent your pledges in, please do so this week.
There is no math homework this week. Not only is it a short week, but third grade is going to begin customizing homework next week. More information will be coming home later.
Next Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, students will be taking the COGAT - an achievement test. Each day the test only lasts 30 minutes.
Please don't forget the Carnival this Friday - 5:00pm to 7:00pm. If you can help out by providing a cake for the cake walk it will be appreciated. I hope to see all of you here!
Finally, report cards will go home November 3, so be on the lookout!
I hope all of you have a wonderful rest of the week!
Holly

Week of 11/2/15 In Class
Reading: Students will begin reading the 2nd Roald Dahl novel independently. In groups we are working on determining the main idea and supporting details in nonfiction texts.
Fundations: Unit 3 is a review of the vowel-consonant-e syllable and is a one week unit.
Science: Skeletal and Muscular Systems of the human body plus how the skin protects us.
Writing: Students are typing their personal narratives in a google doc. They've learned how to set up a folder for the year, as well as share their work with me. We will finish revising and editing them next week before publishing.
