Letter from the Principal:
I can't believe we have reached the end of the school year! Please know we are so very thankful for your continual support through this challenging time. A committee has already started working on what the start of school could look like next year and how to achieve rich core instruction and assure the safety for all.
Thank you for taking time to complete the Panorama Survey. I will be reviewing the data at the building level and the district will review the compiled data to help us in our decision making for next year.
I have a request for you! If you know of anyone who needs to register for Kindergarten, will you please send them to the website? Even if they have not completed their vaccinations since many doctors' offices were closed, we can still get them registered and finish that paperwork this summer. Thank you for spreading the word for us!
This week please look through your child's teacher email to assure you get the summer suggested ideas for learning. There are many great ways to keep your child engaged over the summer! Now I do agree with your child that playing is a priority but feel free to say "Mrs. Thomas said you ALSO need to read 20 minutes a day this summer!" There is a great program through the public library listed below, so check it out!
Finally, today you received a letter and map for our end of year Collection Drive Thru for May 26th and 27th. Please know there was a small correction (both days end at 6:00PM) and we will resend it on Friday! Regardless, we are excited to see you drive by next week so we can start to prepare for next school year! (Remember teacher materials, textbook, library books and rented iPADS are the items we will collect.)
Well, I believe that is going to be a wrap for the 2019-20 school year! Take time to look at the pictures below to take a walk down memory lane! We had lots of fun times in the building and many fun times outside of school building! Thank you again for your patience and flexibility. Thank you for partnering with your neighborhood school and trusting us with your child's education. Please stay safe and healthy this summer!
We WILL see you soon!!!
Respectfully,
Christi Thomas, Principal

HSE High Ability Placement
Hamilton Southeastern Schools invests in the growth of all students. It is the intention of our school corporation to infuse rigor, differentiation and enrichment into all of our classrooms to meet the needs of all students.
Some students may demonstrate the need for high ability services that offer greater depth or acceleration. Formal identification for high ability services takes place in kindergarten, second, and fifth grades. If your student is in kindergarten, second, or fifth grade (and does not already receive high ability services), please expect an email notification after May 20, 2020 regarding your child’s assessment results. If your child is in first, third, fourth, or sixth grade, you will only receive an email if your child has been identified for new services for next year.
If you have questions please contact your school or visit
https://www.hseschools.org/academics/intervention-acceleration/high-ability. Most importantly, please know we will be ready to meet every student's needs in every classroom and look forward to welcoming all of our students back to school!

Bongo Boy Visits GES - Virtually!
We had a great turn out for the Virtual Bongo Boys event yesterday (OVER 104 computers joined and included siblings, parents and pets).
I am thankful that we were able to continue our end of year tradition with our students!
Global Studies
Greetings Families!
I wanted to take the time to tell you thank you so much for continue to help your child learn and grow Globally! You rocked eLearning with some really cool lessons at home! I received videos of kids making cultural recipes, interviews, created postcards, pictures, flags, written recipe, fun facts galore and so much more! I have enjoyed reading and watching them all and learning along with you!
I also wanted to let you know I haven’t forgotten that many of you have items in my classroom on my Interactive Bulletin Board. It was starting to look amazing with all of the items that you had graciously shared with me! The students truly enjoyed looking for new items each week! I will be gathering these personal items and putting them in bags to return to you when we are allowed to do so when the school grants us permission following the CDC appropriate guidelines and time period. For now, they are safe in my room! I just wanted you to know I did not forget that we had these items and I wanted to say THANK YOU for sharing them with our class!
Take Care and Enjoy your Summer!
