Where Learning Takes Flight
A Note from Mrs. Tallent
This coming week is Teacher Appreciation and we can't wait to celebrate our teachers! Please help us show our teachers how much we appreciate all the time, energy and effort they put in to ensure that students feel loved, supported and are successful. I am so honored to be a part of this amazing staff. They make me proud daily!
Since we all worked together to reach our $10,000 goal for the American Heart Association during our Kids Heart Challenge, we get to have a Disney/Marvel Dress Up Day! We would love all students and staff join us in dressing like their favorite Disney or Marvel Character. Please make sure students leave all extra accessories (ex. magic wands, pretend weapons, shields, etc.) at home.

Placement Considerations for Next Year- Due May 6th
Creating class lists each year is a thorough process that takes into consideration students' social/emotional and academic needs, students' learning styles, peer relations, and academic programming. Each child is placed with much care and thoughtful consideration to help him/her grow and have a successful school year. Current teachers, relevant support staff, and administrators provide input into students' class placements. Because there are so many factors that need to be met, it is not possible for us to honor specific teacher requests from parents. We truly believe that each and every one of the teachers at FCE would give nothing but their very best to support your child and provide him/her with a positive and productive school experience. If you have any information that you feel would be helpful for us to know about your child's needs for next year, we encourage you to have a conversation with your child's teacher and fill out the FCE Placement Considerations for Next Year Form we have provided below before May 6th. Please do not email specific teacher requests for your child. Thank you for your understanding and trusting that we always have your child's best interest in mind.
A Note from our Librarian
Dear Parents and Families,
Can you believe it’s almost summer break? The FCE Library will begin end-of-year book return on Monday, May 2nd. Your child will be given an opportunity to return their library books during their regular library rotation from 5/2-5/11. Overdue slips will be generated after May 12th. If you need to report a book as lost, please contact me (Ms. Andrew) at the email address listed below. I’m happy to help you through the process.
Paying for lost books is easy with our online Revtrak payment portal!
As an incentive for returning library books and paying fines so the library can afford to replace lost copies, all students whose accounts are cleared by the last week of school will be entered in a raffle on Friday, May 27th. Winners will be announced throughout the morning to come to the library and claim their prizes.
I sincerely appreciate your support in spreading the joy of reading through student choice in our school library. Thank you again and have a wonderful week!
Sincerely,
Kimberly Andrew
