All About Ernesto Che Guevara

Has Ernesto made himself a hero or a villian? Harry Danyal

Who is Che Guevara?

Ernesto “Che” Guevara, simply known as either El Che or just Che was born on the 14th of June in 1928 and died on the 9th of October in 1967. He was born to a mother named Celia de la Serna y Llosa and to a father named Ernesto Guevara Lynch. He is the eldest of five children in an Argentine family of Basque and Irish descent. Although born in Rosario, Argentina, in his life he lived in the Santa Fe Province as well as in Rosario, Santa Fe, in Buenos Aires and in Guatemala City.

What Did he pursue? What did he do?

Although suffering crippling bouts of acute asthma, he became a major figure. He grew up to be part of Argentine Marxist revolutionary as well as becoming aphysician, author, the leader of Guerrilla warfare, diplomat, and a military theorist. Not only did he take part in the Argentine Marxist revolutionary but also in the Cuban Revolution.

Guevara took part in many activities in his lifetime which not only made him popular but also important. These activities include chess competitions and motorcycle journeys. As Guevara was a clever person which can be seen in his jobs and interests, he gave lectures to others. He was also important as he was responsible for the formation of the July 26th movement that helped get rid of the evil General Fulgencio Batista.

What did he believe in?

Guevara had many beliefs which were mostly in a political point of view. He believed in socialism but he wasn’t very religious. Guevara attempted to make the world believe that nonviolent coexistence was the restricted right of the earth's great powers. He believed that the USA was the perpetuator of development and domination against the people of the world and against a large part of its own population. Guevara sees himself as original and does not mind doing things on his own.

Conclusion: A heroic hero or a villanious villian?

By looking at what Guevara became when he grew up, you can tell that he had many achievements. One of his accomplishments towards military made him famous. We can say that he became a legendary political figure. His name is often equated with rebellion and revolution. Although he was a communist (this is bad as equal is not always fair for hardworking people) and he ordered prisoners to be executed without a trial in Cuba, in my eyes he is seen as a hero!
