On February 19 and 20, 2020, the National Peanut Festival Fairgrounds will be taken over by thousands of 8th-grade students from Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. We anticipate that students all over the state will look back at their WOW experience and realize the event guided their career goals and impacted their lives.
Over 5,000 eighth grade students have registered from Barbour, Butler, Coffee, Covington, Crenshaw, Dale, Geneva, Henry, Houston, and Pike counties in Alabama; Early, Miller and Seminole counties from Georgia, along with Jackson, Holmes, and Washington counties from Florida.
This career experience will allow students to take part in engaging, educational, and hands-on experiences. Students will become familiar with a broad overview of high-demand, high-wage career opportunities available in the region and gain awareness of exciting career options. Experiences will include positions that are or will be, in high demand in our region over the next ten years.
Need to post a job? Looking for a job?
Employees in the Alabama Green Industry work with and for the land. When you step outside, virtually everything you see that isn’t asphalt has been touched at some point by someone in the nursery and landscape industry. By making such a positive impact on the environment, it’s hard for industry professionals not to love what they do.
As Chinese philosopher Confucius once said, “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” This is what being a horticulturist is all about.
