The Annual Brookwood Cluster Art Show is Wednesday, April 27th at Brookwood High School in the Commons area. Everyone is invited to come out and see this amazing collection of artwork. The show is from 6-8pm with awards and certificates presented at 7pm.

We have an amazing number of talented BES students who will have their artwork on display. Artwork was selected based on skill and talent from students in 3rd through 12th grade. Congratulations to our Brookwood Elementary student who will have artwork featured at this year's Annual Brookwood Cluster Art Show!

Do you have a child who will turn 5 years old before September 1, 2022? Then it is time to register for KINDERGARTEN!

Kindergarten Registration began online on April 11, 2022. You can find all the information you to need to help you get ready at the New to Brookwood page of the Brookwood Elementary website.

If you do not have a kindergarten-aged child, please help Brookwood Elementary spread the word about Kindergarten Registration to your friends and neighbors.

We are excited to welcome our future Colts to Brookwood Elementary School! Please join us for Kick Off to Kindergarten on Tuesday, May 3rd from 4:30 - 7:30 pm.

During our Kick Off to Kindergarten, we will have staff members available to help with online registration, receive required documents, and complete initial assessments with your future kindergartener. On that night you will also be able to get information from the clinic and transportation.

The Georgia Milestones End of Grade Assessment will be administered to all students in 3rd - 5th grade from April 21 - May 13, 2022. Third and fourth grade will test over five days in the subject areas of Reading, Language Arts, and Math. Fifth grade will test in the subjects of Reading, Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science over six days. Each year, we expose our students to a variety of careers in order to jumpstart their thinking about the future. This year we are excited to announce that we are welcoming presenters back into our building. Our College and Career Day will be May 13 (3-5) & May 17 (K-2), 2022.

If you, a family member, or a friend is interested in presenting as a Career Day Speaker, please complete the following form: Career Day Speaker Interest Form.

Did you know that Brookwood ES has a Health Response Team (HRT) which manages and communicates COVID related information with staff, students and parents? The HRT gathers information, conducts contact investigations and communicates as needed. In the next few months, it is important that you continue to alert the school if your child develops symptoms or tests positive for the virus.

Common symptoms include:

Fever (100.4 or higher), Cough, Shortness of breath, muscle/body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, congestion/runny nose, nausea/vomiting, sore throat, fatigue

Cancer has touched many of the staff of Brookwood Elementary School in some way. To help fight back, Brookwood Elementary has committed to raise funds and participate in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life event. The Brookwood Elementary Relay for Life team has set the goal to raise $10,000 for Relay for Life this year! You can help us meet our goal in a few ways:

• Join our Team - Go to the Relay for Life website and become a member of our team.
• Make a Donation - We are accepting donations via our team website.

Information has come home with your 5th grade student from the Brookwood cluster middle schools. You can find information about important dates and events below and on the Rising 6th Grade page on the Brookwood Elementary website.

Brookwood Elementary PTA is now selling 5th Grade Yard Signs to help you celebrate your student's hard work and accomplishments at Brookwood Elementary. Each sign costs $20 and can be purchased at the Brookwood Elementary PTA website. You can also help another family celebrate their 5th grader by sponsoring another student's yard sign. The deadline to order a sign for your 5th grader is Wednesday, May 4th.

You will be able to pick up the 5th Grade Yard Sign you order following your child's 5th Grade Promotion Ceremony. All proceeds from the sale of these yards signs will go to help fund this year's 5th grade celebration!

Rising 6th Graders are invited to register for Bronco Boot Camp to get an early peek of a day-in-the-life at Crews Middle School. Students will get opportunities to tour the building, preview 6th curriculum, practice class changes, and go on a scavenger hunt. Parents will also be invited to a virtual Q &A on the last day of camp.

Please join us for a Spring Work Day to benefit our beloved school! Our largest project will be assembling 10 new raised garden beds (each will be 6x3x1 foot) and filling them with soil for our new school garden! But, that’s not all…we will also trim bushes along the front of the building as well as plant some new flowers by the school sign. The front of the school will get a good spring cleaning and our new school garden will be ready to plant in the fall!

Kids are welcome and encouraged to come work alongside their parents. What better way to instill pride in your school than sweat equity mixed with some fun? Also, don’t forget to bring your gardening tools, hedge trimmers, shovels, gloves, rakes, wheelbarrows, a water bottle as well as any cardboard boxes you might have (with tape removed - to line the garden beds).

All tickets purchased will include admission, a choice of a pasta dinner that you choose during the event, garlic knots, drinks, dessert, take & Bake kit for adult/son combo ticket purchased, craft, photo booth, and more…

Gwinnett County Public Schools' ISC Relay for Life Team will be hosting the Cars for a Cause Car Show on April 23, 2022 at the J. Alvin Wilbanks Instructional Support Center from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. All proceeds benefit the Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society.

• Earlybird Registration – $20 – Online registration available now through Saturday, April 16th.
• Registration Day of Event – $25 – Registration will be available the day of the event starting at 9:00am.
