Our new district-wide visitor check-in system is up and running! Be sure to bring your driver's license or government photo ID with you from now on when checking in at the office. The process is quick and easy!

Liberty Public Schools continues efforts to ensure our students and staff are safe while at school. While LPS currently considers our buildings safe with state-of-the-art security systems in place, we are excited to announce that building security has received upgrades at each building site.

There are several important benefits this new system is expected to provide to our buildings now and in the future. They include:

  • An instantaneous sexual offender background check will be run for each and every visitor to our schools.
  • Visitor badges will be issued for each visitor and will include their picture and where they are visiting.
  • In the future this system will be used to verify who has the authority to pick a child up from school.
  • This system allows those on the LPS No Trespass List to be identified immediately.
  • This system will track volunteers and their time spent in our schools.

All visitors must present a government-issued ID as they enter a school facility. The type of ID accepted includes: driver’s license, state-issued identification card, military ID, etc.

We appreciate your partnership as we continue safety and security upgrades. As always, if you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact our LPS Safety and Security Department at 816.736.7319.

Parents/Guardians, This is just a reminder that outside food is not allowed at breakfast. Breakfast is intended to be purchased from the school cafeteria and eaten promptly before students head to class. Breakfast at school does not operate in the same manner as lunch does where visitors are welcome. Visitors and outside food during breakfast can cause our students to be late for class. If your child does not intend to purchase their breakfast from the cafeteria, then please ask them to eat at home before arriving at school. Thank you for your help.

Congrats to Mrs. Beaty's class for winning the Golden Skate Award with the most attendance at last week's Skating Party. Ms. Jewell's class came in a close 2nd, and Mrs. Price's class came in 3rd.

A special thank you to Mr. Farris, Mrs. Beaty, Mrs. Minnick, Mrs. Decker, Ms. Jewell, and Mrs. Rettig for making celebrity appearances.
