OTSEGO LOCAL SCHOOLS
Superintendent's Weekly Update - May 2, 2019
Hard to believe that we are starting to think about next school year already, but it is time! We wanted to open registration early this year to better plan and to get organized for the upcoming year.
Online registration for the 2019-2020 school year is NOW available - FORMS ARE DUE JUNE 1st
You will see a box similar to the image below for the 2019-2020 school year. You will need to click to switch to the 2019-2020 school year before you start updating information.
CLICK HERE to start your online registration for a returning student. You will use your same account from last year. All of the information automatically comes over from last year. You will only have to sign each page and update any information that may have changed. It would be helpful to all of us if you could fill this out ASAP. Please fill the forms out by June 1st.
** PRESCHOOL PARENTS DO NOT HAVE TO FILL OUT FINAL FORMS OUT
You will also get email reminders from Final Forms. These emails will be sent to the email addresses we have on file from last year.
TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION - For those that will be filling out an Alternate Transportation request these will be done within Final Forms. The deadline will be June 1st. Please fill out Final Forms by July 1st with any alternate transportation requests. If you have any questions please contact Eva at evasher@otsegoknights.org or 419-823-4381 ext. 3156
Cafeteria News:
Please check your student's meal account balance. Otsego has many students with unpaid meal charges. Emails are sent twice weekly to the email account we have on file.
As of Monday, May 6th, if the student is over the three (3) meal charging limit they WILL NOT
receive breakfast. And they may be provided an alternate meal that meets the National School Lunch Program meal pattern (meat/meat alternate, grains, fruit, vegetable and milk). The meal will be charged to the student's account and the student will be encouraged to start packing their lunch and eating breakfast at home.
If you have any questions or concerns, please email jjeffers@otsegoknights.org or call me at 419-823-4381 ext.1104

Announcing our NEW Summer Art Studio grade 7-12!!!
The BGSU School of Art would like to share an exciting new summer studio we are offering this summer for grades 7th – 12th
We are offering a 10 day Summer Studio Art Camp that will focus on TAB style teaching (Teaching Artistic Behaviors) or student center teaching rather than the traditional teacher centered. This is a fairly new concept in art education that is producing wonderful results with students. In a TAB style studio setting the students have a lot more say in the media and style they want to learn more about. The teachers roll is then to provide artistic inspiration, teach individuals technical skills in their media of choice and provide mini lesson that would introduce students to design and related materials they may not have experienced before. Students will also have the opportunity to learn more about portfolio development and art school admission.
•Our dates are: Wed. June 5th – Wed. June 19th
• Our times to meet: (Mon-Fri.) 12:30 – 3:30
• Our location: BGSU Fine Art Center
• Our cost for the 30hrs of instruction is only: $150 (payable by check only for this first year)
Being that this is our pilot summer we will be keeping the number small. If you as a 7th-12th grade is interested and/or you know of a friend that you would like to invite, please feel free to send them this invite.
Parents to register your son or daughter you may contact me directly and I can send you the registration forms. You can also simply register online at:
