Thanks for your patience...

We appreciate your patience with the OLS connectivity issues this past week... I've got my fingers crossed that everything is resolved. Maybe one extra day off this weekend is all it needs to get up and running again!

Don't forget that Monday, February 17th is President's Day. It's a K12 holiday, but as always feel free to work if you'd like.

I look forward to speaking with you this week or next!

Teacher Tip of the Week:

Have you noticed a bit of lagging when logging into the OLS or Blackboard? Try clearing your internet history and see if that helps. Even if your OLS is not lagging, this is a great idea for keeping your computer in tip-top shape.

To Update or Not to Update…..Java

With the recent update to Blackboard, the question remains do we update Java now or not? It is recommended that we hold off one more week before updating; however, if you have already updated it is no big deal. There is no need to reinstall an older version.

Coach to Coach January Tip:

Below is a great tip from Stephanie C-Learning Coach for a K and 1st Grade student:

Reading to kids during breakfast (and at bedtime) helps manage the variety of tasks the students need to accomplish during the day. This also can help keep younger children's attention as well.

Downloading the K12 literature apps allows the LC to provide story time to the students while accomplishing other tasks. An added bonus is that the kids like someone else reading to them.

Help Wanted!!

Is your student doing something you want to share with the world? (or at least with our class?) Is your Learning Coach working hard to help you learn?

Please send any pictures, stories of exciting news and/ or hard work that you want to share with the class. This can be school and non school related. It can be as big as landing a part in a local play, to finally writing you numbers in the right direction.

Let’s celebrate it all TOGETHER!!!
