What makes a cnidarian?
- Radical symmtetry
- Tentacles
- Stinging cells called cnidocytes
- nematocysts
- Gastrovascular cavity
- a simple net like nervous system
Hydra
- Their nematocysts are harmless to humans
- The mouth is the only opening to the body cavity so it also acts as an anus
Portuguese man of war
- an animal made up of a colony of working organisms working together
- the tentacles are covered in venom-filled nematocysts used to paralyze and kill fish and other small creature
Box Jellyfish
- They shrink if they don't eat
- global warming causes the stingers to extend
