Mask Parade

We held a students-only, socially distanced Mask Parade this year, and we'll be ready to share it with families soon. The Mask Parade allows students to display masks they created based on classroom curriculum they've been studying. We encourage you to make time for you and your student to watch it at home.

Picture Retakes November 16

Due to a delay in getting picture proofs, we have moved our picture make up day to November 16. Once you receive a copy of your child's pictures, take a look and decide if your child needs a retake. If they do, send the pictures back to school by the day of retakes. Students who missed taking pictures in September will also take their picture at this time. If you have questions, contact Tina in the school office at thensley@cusd.claremont.edu. To order pictures, see www.schoolportraitsonline.com.

We will take our all school picture on that same day.

Pending vaccine availability, we hope to schedule clinics as early as November 8. These clinics will be scheduled after school and a parent or guardian will need to accompany their child. Supporting Children During an Uncertain School Year: Managing Anxiety Parent Webinar

Anxiety is the most prevalent mental health disorder among children and adolescents, affecting 1 in 4 youth over their lifetime. This Tuesday night at 6:00 PM, San Diego County Office of Education will offer a one-hour parent webinar focused on strategies, tools and resources to support children or teens who feel overwhelmed, stressed or anxious. Register for the virtual training here. This event will also be broadcasted live on the California Department of Education’s Facebook Page.

CUSD Family Engagement Calendar

See the CUSD Parent Resources and Links page for details on CUSD's efforts to support students, staff and families. This Wednesday, Tri-City Mental Health will provide a training called Rising Together. It addresses how trauma and toxic stress shape the developing brain and body, and how safe, supportive and nurturing relationships can buffer the effects. Attend to gain practical tools and resources to build resilience and support for those who have experienced trauma and adversity. The meeting will be held from 2:00-4:00 PM. See this flyer or the Parents tab of the CUSD website for details.

Rainy days ahead

On rainy days, students will enter school and move directly to classrooms to be screened. Barring extremely cold conditions or downpours, our plan is to have students eat outside in our covered hallways during rainy days. We ask that you send your child with a jacket so they are comfortable while eating outside. Please contact me directly with any concerns.

Treasurer Communication

When making a donation via check or Zelle, please use the memo section to specify what your donation is for (Syc Gear, Annual Fund Donation, Auction Item, etc.). This really helps us on the accounting side of things. Thank you!
