Caldecott Award books
Students from Pre-Kinder through 2nd grade learned about the Caldecott Award. We then read the book This Is Not My Hat, written and illustrated by Jon Klassen 2013 winner (Candlewick Press) and then looked at A Ball for Daisy by Chris Raschka 2012 winner(Schwartz & Wade Books, an imprint of Random House Children's Books, a division of Random House, Inc.) Students then had the opportunity to draw their favorite part of the books read.

Online encyclopedia
Students in Pre-Kinder through 5th grade learning about the encyclopedia and Britannica. Students got to travel the seven continents of the world and then learn about South America. Students learned about the different animals and wonders of South America then drew about them in the draw portion of Britannica learning. 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students worked on a powerpoint poster describing a place in South America that they were assigned. We used Britannica for 2 weeks to have a better understanding.

Britannica Drawing
Students learned about South American animals living in the area then drew what they learned. Students also listened to a dictionary word then had to write the word and draw a picture.
