Dear Parents,
As the early days of November envelop us with bright, falling leaves, crisp air and beautiful sunrises, it is the perfect time to reflect and remember all that we are grateful for. I encourage you to talk with your child about all of the positive things in their lives and how fortunate they are to be a part of this community. Our Rose staff have been working so hard to support students this school year; I know they would appreciate a kind note, a positive message, or a simple thank-you for all they are doing for our Stingrays. Send a quick email or note or have your child color/draw a picture to show Rose staff how special they are. I know the kind words of gratitude will go a long way!
School News:
Mr. Ernson Augustin will be the new Rose Psychologist. He will test students and attend meetings virtually. Ms. Fraterrigo will be serving as a proctor when students are testing to ensure that the process is running smoothly.
I appreciate the ongoing communication with our Rose staff. The strong partnership and collaboration is essential to student success. Please know that the time during the school day is busy and staff cannot always check emails and phone calls during the day (myself included!) Please give staff 24-48 hours to return calls/emails. Sometimes there needs to be time spent finding answers, collecting data, collaborating with staff or drafting a thoughtful response. If there is an emergency that requires immediate communication, please contact the school office.
Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) results will be coming home on Friday in 4th and 5th grade student backpacks.
COVID updates- There are no new COVID cases at Rose School this week. You can also check the district COVID Dashboard for up-to-date district COVID information if you have additional questions about positive cases and quarantines.
There are some school and community activities coming up in the next few weeks. Please read below for updates.
Rose School will host the annual Veterans’ Day Assembly. Students in the intermediate grades will attend the ceremony in person while students in the primary classes have the option to livestream the presentation. Student Council representatives will be leading the ceremony and sharing some ideas for how students can make an impact on their local community. We will send out the link tomorrow for any families that wish to view the ceremony at 9 am.
Student Covid Vaccination Clinics will be hosted at Sunny Hill and BHS on November 12th and 13th. The district sent out communication earlier this week with the details.
Stingray Singers will perform at the Arboretum Tree Lighting at 6:00 pm on Saturday, November 13th. All are welcome to attend.
Have a wonderful week!
Regards,
Heather Schumacher, Rose School Principal
