World Geography with Mr. Akagi
Next week in World Geography, we will continue our study of Europe by looking at the European Union. Talking about the European Union, of course we’ll talk about Brexit, the United Kingdom’s wanted exit, and the pros and cons for the UK leaving. Then, we’ll examine industrialization and urbanization in Europe. Our goal is to play the Urbanization game where students will have a decreasing amount of time to draw an increasing amount of structures. Students will probably have a complex and messy series of buildings as the nice towns they drew turn into sprawling cities. Finally, we should be able to finish up on Thursday and Friday by taking a virtual reality journey into the Chernobyl. This is my first time trying VR in the classroom, but hopefully it’ll turn out well as students get to safely explore the irradiated ruins!
Language Arts with Ms. Griem
Language Arts classes are going to finish out the semester by reading an adapted play version of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. Two weeks left until the end of the semester. There will be no more test grades, so Retakes or Make ups must be completed by Thursday, December 19th.
