Progress Reports
Please sign these progress reports and return in the red communication folder. I'm a day behind this week, so the red folders will come home on Thursday.
Most Loved Apps
I've been asked by several of you for some ideas for apps that your kids can use at home. I'm new to this new 'techie' thing, but as I find good ones, I'll try to share. I try to only get the free ones. One way to get apps for free, is to download AppsGoneFree. Each day, it lists apps that are free for just that day. In fact, today, they had several math apps from a reputable math company for free. Just be aware, that there are also gaming apps available, not just educational. Here are some others:
- RocketSpeller from Little Big Thinkers
- Hansel and Gretel/Little Red Riding Hood (Story Toys)
- Spelling Magic
- Puppet Pals
- Hands-On Math, Base Ten Blocks (Ventura)
- Brain Quest
What Are We Learning?
- Reading Workshop- identifying the main idea and details in informational texts, comparing/contrasting two subjects from different texts
- Math Workshop- comparing numbers by identifying the amount of tens and ones in each number
- Science- location of objects (positional words), how objects move, force (push/pull)
- Writing Workshop- writing our opinions using describing words
