December 2021 - Vol. 3 Issue 4
Dollenger says....
Greetings,
It is hard to believe that it is December already and we are excited for the first CCPS winter sports season and winter concerts in two years. With just two and a half weeks until winter break, please remember to check on grades and keep up with assignments. Remember that the end of the interim period is upon us now and that the second marking period will end very quickly upon our return.
We are lucky at North East High to have a strong community and we are proud to be part of it. There are opportunities for everyone to help as they can, be it the Live For Thomas toy drive or the work the VFW does each year that we help to support. Keep up the good work and remember that we are North East.
~Mr. Dollenger

Action Club Corner
MISSION:
We are here to promote NEHS’s curricular and extra-curricular support for school wide activities in an effort to improve school spirit, provide enrichment, and develop positive student, teacher, parent, administrative, and community relationships.
We will not have a meeting this month. Our next meeting will take place in the new year, January 12, 2022. Winter Sports have begun and the Action Club has always run the Concession stand during events. We will be attempting to open the stand the week of the 6th, but you will note a few changes. Due to the mask policy this season no food or drinks will be allowed in the gym. There will be an area in the hallway where you can go to enjoy your refreshments the return to the game. With these new rules in place, we may not have all of the favorites you have become accustomed to.
There are 24 nights between now and February that there are Girls' and Boys' Basketball games and Wrestling events. With that being said our hope is to have two adults and two Honor Society students helping those nights. Most JV games start at 5;30pm and Varsity at 7pm. If you are able to help for half of the night or the whole night we would be happy to have you. Use our signup link https://signup.com/go/zwkkNUN for the month of December. Future months will be out in a few weeks.

Students on Extended Absence
Alumni Spotlight
Baily Kerr graduated from North East High School in 2014. During her time, Baily was a four year member of the field hockey, basketball, and lacrosse team. She was also a member of FBLA, National Honor Society and the Student Government Association. Her favorite memory was her membership on the North East Field Hockey Team. She helped carry the team to 3rd place in the upper division and enjoyed playing for something bigger than herself. She would like to give Mr. Burkhardt a shout out for always knowing how to make her laugh and focusing on the things that really matter.
After high school, Baily attended Towson University. She played Division I field hockey for four years and graduated with a bachelor's degree of Science in Psychology and Health Science. She was also inducted into the National Honors Society for Towson University.
Baily currently works for a Health and Wellness Company as a Nutrition and Wellness Specialist. She coaches varsity field hockey at C. Milton Wright High School and club field hockey for H2O. Baily also has her own business called, "b'Well with Baily" where she focuses on helping individuals (specifically athletes) become their best and most successful selves. She also is a research intern with the John W. Brick (Brick Bodies) Foundation. She researches the effects of diet on mental health. Her dream would be to create a curriculum on functional (metal, physical, emotional) athletic training for sports teams and/or athletes.
