History of "Brickies" and "Yohan"!
Ever wonder how we came about becoming the "Brickies"? Or who "Yohan" was? Enjoy this video about our history published by Lakeshore Public Media! It gives a brief, yet detailed explanation of our past, present, and what it means to be a Brickie! "Once a Brickie, Always a Brickie!"
First Day at the School City of Hobart!
It was a beautiful first day of school full of nervous, yet excited kids that had the confidence of conquering this school year better than the last! The teachers and staff were ready and beaming with excitement as the halls filled up with students again. We were able to snap a few photos throughout the day of our Brickies - young and old! Even a friendly Hobart Citizen was excited and wrote positive messages on the sidewalk for students to read on the way to the bus stop for the first time! The community of Hobart is wonderful with supporting our schools and we love that! As encouragement to stay hydrated and healthy, each student and staff member received their own Brickie water bottle to have at school with them. They LOVE them and want to be the best they can be - check out the video below created by our own Brickies! We have been preparing all summer for this school year and hope that every student from the Class of 2018 through the Class of 2030 make every day their best! #brickieup
School City of Hobart's VISION 2020!
Elementary Parent Meeting - Please Join Us!
Shana Robertson, Fair Haven's Center for Women's Education and Outreach Coordinator, will be coming to Hobart to help inform us as parents of ways to educate our students about having healthy and respectful social relationships. Students that learn how to build these relationships at a younger age will be able to recognize and avoid inappropriate and abusive behaviors as they grow. Very important for all to learn and understand! We really hope to see you there!
College Go Week!
Every year the School City of Hobart uses College Go Week to encourage students to think and pursue a higher education. Whether it be at a College or University or with a Union or Trade, there is an opportunity for every student to achieve more after high school graduation and help jump start their career on a path that they have been dreaming of! We ask our kids every year what they want to be when they grow up, let's also teach them how to achieve those dreams and goals!
Every Kid in A Park!
The White House in partnership with the Federal Land Management Agencies is again offering to ALL 4th Grade Students a park pass! Starting in September, if you have a current 4th grade student they can go online and achieve a Federal Park Pass that will last them for the entire year! Not sure where to go? Start with our beautiful Indiana Dunes State Park and get exploring!
Khan Academy - You Can Keep Learning Anything. For Free. For Everyone. Forever.
Enjoy the Khan Academy all year long! Khan Academy is a resource that offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and personalized learning that empowers learners to study at their own pace. Students can work on skills in math, science, computer programming, PSAT/SAT Test Prep, and more. Additionally, parents can coach and monitor their children while they work through the program.
