Scientific Revolution
Anadelia M. 6th period
What was the change?
From 1550 to 1700, Europe experienced a Scientific Revolution when new ides in physics, astronomy, biology, anatomy changed the way Europeans vied the natural world.
Who were the people associated with the change?
Nicolaus Kepler
Copernicus was A Polish astronomer. He had said,"That the Geocentric model didn't explain the movements of the sun, moon , and planets. After 30 years of studying, he proposed a new model for the universe. This was the first model in 2000 years. He had worked angered religious leaders in the Catholic and protestant churches. In this method the sun was told that it was in the the middle of the universe.
Johannes Kepler
When he had finished observations, it was proved that the Heliocentric model was true, about the universe. Upon his research, Kepler had make three laws based on his observations. The planets moved in a elliptical orbit, around the sun. The planets move quicker around when there closer to the sun. The time it takes a planet to orbit the sun proportional to its distance from the sun.
Galileo Galilei
He was an Italian professor who proved that many Aristotle's theories were wrong about nature. He found objects that accelerate at a predicable and fixed rate.Proved that heavy objects fall at the same time and had a fixed rate. He also made improvements to the telescope. Making it more clear to observe the sky. He had used it to study sunspots, moon's surface , and Jupiter's moons. The church did not agree to his studies and forced him to state that it was untrue. He was soon put in house arrest, until his death.
How did the change impact society at the time?
People were questioning the church. That it wasn't part or believed in the church and they wanted to end it.But, since church was in charge, they did't want people to express there ways and wanted them to express them in a religious way.
How is that change evidenced in today's modern society?
We use it in many ways. In studying the starts and future world problems. It had made people represent there beliefs in different ways. Also, it was the new begging of showing beliefs.
