STUDENT HOLIDAY - OCTOBER 14th
REMINDER
Doors open at 8:10 am and Great Expectations Assembly will begin at 8:30am. The tardy bell rings at 8:40 am.
Our Wildcat Monthly newsletter runs the first of every month. Our newsletters will keep you updated with important information, dates, and activities happening at CPES! Also, www.tomballisd.net, www.canyonpointepto.com, and www.facebook.com/CPESPTO have up-to-date information.

Screenings - October 16th
Hearing and Vision screenings will be October 16th for all CPES students. A letter will go home in Wednesday folders at the beginning of October.
We need as much help as we can get coordinating classes coming back & forth as well as keeping the line moving and assisting the screeners wiht height & weight measurements if needed.

REMINDER to parents that per TISD policy students are not allowed to bring ANY medications to school (including cough drops or throat lozenges). ALL medications must be brought in by a parent and a medication administration form must be filled out in order for it to be given.
STEAM Conference - October 19th
The 3rd Annual STEAM Conference is on Sat. Oct. 19th & is open to ALL TISD 3rd through 8th grade students. CLICK HERE to learn more!!
Trunk or Treat & Ghoultastic Reading Fun!!
Join us on Thursday, October 24th from 5:00pm-7:00 pm in the front parking lots for some trick or treat fun!
THEME: Monster Mash
We need a minimum of 30 Trunks to make this year's Trunk or Treat a spooktacular good time.
We encourage everyone to dress up as their favorite fun monster. No scary costumes please.
SIGN UP to decorate a trunk in a monster mash or another family friendly Halloween theme or send the form from your child’s Wednesday folder to reserve your space. A prize will be given for best decorated trunk.
IMPORTANT: WE NEED CANDY in order to make this Trunk or Treat a success. Please send in pre-wrapped candy to your child’s teacher from 10/15-10/24. The grade level with the most candy donations will receive a prize.

Ghoultastic Reading Fun:
The book fair will be open on Thursday, October 24 during Trunk or Treat from 5:00-7:00. We will have candy to hand out, also.
CPES BOOK FAIR: October 21st-25th
The fall book fair will take place the week of October 21-25 from 8:45am - 3:30pm. Grades KG-4 will come on their usual library day:
- KG - Wednesday
- 1st - Tuesday
- 2nd - Thursday
- 3rd - Monday
- 4th - Friday
We will have the e-wallet again this year and hope more parents will use it so that kiddos don’t lose money. The e-wallet is even available to grandparents who would like to treat their grandkid with a little money. Any money left in the e-wallet after book fair is over is put back on the credit/debit card that was used.
If you can’t make it to the book fair or the book that your child wants is not available/sold out, you can access our online book fair starting October 21st through the 25th. To find the address of the online fair, go to: http://www.scholastic.com/bookfairs/ -> Find a Fair ->Texas -> Tomball -> Canyon Pointe. The books will be delivered to the school within a day or two of the finish of the book fair.

Fall Fun Run/Field Day - November 8th
Theme: "Wildcats in the Zone"
We will have a student only Kick-off Pep Rally held during school hours, Monday, Oct 28th, to kickoff the excitement on so be on the lookout for fundraiser packets sent home with your kiddos. Help us raise money for CPES this year in a BIG (and crazy fun) way! The funds we raise together help us provide all of the awesome educational support materials, in-house author visit, educational adventures, and bring us closer to our bigger goals of sunshades on our playground and chromebooks for each student. Student fundraising goal: $30 per student
The class who raises the most money overall will be rewarded with a silly string party during Specials time in the gym!! The kids are going to LOVE this!!! :o)

We welcome all kiddos to wear their class color during field day. An easy was to do this is by wearing your class spirit wear shirt! If you are unable to purchase your spirit wear shirt prior to the event, please feel free to wear any shirt in your class color. TISD Leadership Participant
The TISD Leadership Participant program provides an opportunity for you to take part in an interactive in-depth learning experience from Nov through April. You will go "behind the scenes" of TISD, meet the people who are responsible for programs & services, and see first hand how a district creates a climate of success for our rapidly growing, diverse student population.
Dates:

- Jan 16th: 5:00-7:30pm

- April 13th: 5:30pm recognition at TISD Board Meeting (Graduation)

TISD Principal Partner
The TISD Principal Partner for a day provides an opportunity for you to visit a school assigned to you by TISD. You will partner with the school Principal to learn the importance of their role, their impact on the students & teachers and what it takes to run & manage a successful school.
Date: Nov 19th from 8-11am with lunch following from 11:30am - 1:30pm.

"We Honor You!" - A Salute to our American Heroes
Monday, November 11, 2019 at 10 AM
Join us for this special musical salute to our servicemen and women. RSVP for special VIP seating and a reception for veterans and active service members.
Please send a JPEG of family members who have served or are currently serving in one of the branches of the armed services to Mr. Nolde for inclusion in our pictorial salute. Include their name and their relationship to your third grader. toddnolde@tomballisd.net
Please submit all photos no later than November 5.
Although there are no special costumes for this program, students are asked to wear red, white and blue.
PTO MEETING - October 1st @ 6pm

Volunteer help is really important to make any school year into a successful year. If you would like to volunteer at various classroom events and school events, help with your time/other donations throughout the coming school year, right now is the perfect time to let us know. All volunteers at CPES need to have their background check done before they can help us at school. Also PTO will need your contact information and availability/event preferences, for them to send you emails as and when they need help. CPES Staff Meeting Snacks!
Hello Wildcat Families!
We are so excited about the new school year! We have amazing teachers and staff at CPES and it is our privilege to show our appreciation to them throughout the year.
One of the things they really love is having snacks at their monthly after school staff meetings. So, we are looking for volunteers to donate pre-packaged snacks and desserts, as well as cans of soda for them to enjoy throughout the year.
If you would like to donate, please check out the SIGN UP and see what you can send in. You can drop off your donations at the front desk, just make sure you label them for PTO.

This year CPES PTO is using AtoZ Connect to provide an electronic Family Directory to our CPES families. The directory is a great resource for parties, getting to know other parents, and setting up play dates with your child’s friends.

CPES is committed to being a Bully & Drug Free Campus. Once again, we will ORANGE OUT CPES to support National Unity Day – United Against Bullying and Drugs.
Spring Carnival Fundraiser Shout Out - Tentative Date: Feb 29, 2020
The tentative date is Saturday, Feb 29, 2020.
We will need at a minimum 30 volunteers. So mark your calendars as you know this will be a FANTASTIC day full of fun, family, friends & laughter. :o)

This program is for dads, grandfathers, and even uncles to provide a positive and active role model for students at the school. (More details available HERE)
