DILG: Cebu official can assume as acting vice-guv without oath taking
CEBU CITY, Jan 11 (PIA) -- Provincial Board Member Julian Daan can assume as acting vice governor of Cebu without the need of an oath- taking ceremony.
This was the clarification given by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG-7) to one of the issues raised by Cebu acting Governor Agnes Magpale.
Magpale has sought clarification from DILG-7 on the failure of Daan to take his oath as acting vice governor of Cebu after she vacated the position and assumed as acting governor. READ MORE
Cebu City mayor pledges support for PhilHealth MOVES

CEBU CITY, Jan. 8 (PIA) — Mayor Michael Rama has pledged his support for the new enrolment scheme launched by the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth).
PhilHealth, in November 2012, launched PhilHealth MOVES or Mobile Orientation, Validation, and Enrolment Scheme, a project that is seen to revolutionize the delivery of key messages on the government insurance member rights and privileges. READ MORE

A grander Sinulog sa Kabataan in 2013

CEBU CITY, Jan 10 (PIA) — Expect a grander and more competitive Sinulog sa Kabataan this year.
Sinulog Foundation Incorporated (SFI) Executive Director Ricky Ballesteros said spectators are in for a show not only during the Grand Parade on the 20th but starting this weekend during the competitions for both Sinulog sa Kabataan Lalawigan and Dakbayan.
Ballesteros, during the first Kapihan sa PIA forum this year held at the Cultural and Historical Affairs Commission building, said he can see more fascinating performances with the students exerting more effort this time. READ MORE
Politicians told to ‘behave’ during Sinulog Festival in Cebu

CEBU CITY, Jan 9 (PIA) — With the 2013 midterm elections a few months away, organizers of the Sinulog 2013 Festival warned politicians to “behave” during the Sinulog festivities.
The Sinulog Foundation Inc. (SFI) have received calls from several politicians, especially from the national level, requesting to be invited during the celebration.
“This is understandable since it’s now election season,” said SFI Executive Director Ricky Ballesteros during a Kapihan forum held by the Philippine Information Agency here. READ MORE
LTFRB to allow 40 buses to enter city streets on Sinulog Day

CEBU CITY, Jan 9 (PIA) — The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board 7 (LTFRB-7) will issue special permits to 40 buses to enter the city during the celebration of the Sinulog 2013 festival.
LTFRB 7 Regional Director Ahmed Cuizon said they will be allowing buses from northern and southern part of the province to load and unload near the Cebu City Sports Complex.
LTFRB has held a consolidating meeting with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and the City Transport Operations and Management (CITOM). READ MORE
