Bobcat Bulletin

Week of Feb. 7th

Principal Petrick Message

Hello Bobcat Families,

This past week the rate of absenteeism of our students improved significantly! However, we are continuing to experience staffing shortages as we don't have the staffing levels to replace the levels of shortages we are experiencing . These shortages are affecting our ability to operate at the level that we are accustomed to operating. Thank you for your patience as we navigate through the cold/flu season and hopefully regain widespread health in the coming weeks.

Please be on the look out for 1st Semester Grade Reports that should be arriving in the mail by the end of this week.

Respectfully,

Mr. Petrick

Semester 1 Report Cards

Report cards will be finished by Friday February 4th. They will be mailed home and should arrive by the end of the week of February 7th - 11th to your home.

Report cards are a snapshot of student's progress on primary standards at the midway point of the year. There are some standards that have not yet been covered so they will be left blank on the mid year report card but reported on at the end of the school year.

Test to Stay COVID 19 Program

Starting in February we will have the ability to issue Rapid Response tests to students who are presenting symptoms of COVID 19. These tests would be completed by our health assistant at school with parent permission. The test would allow a student who does not test positive the opportunity to stay at school instead of going home on a quarantine. The tests are only utilized for students presenting a primary symptom at school.

Volunteers Welcome!

  1. Complete the volunteer application on our website.
  2. The information you provide will be used to complete background checks through the state's criminal records system and the Oregon Department of Education's sexual misconduct database.
  3. Once these checks have cleared, you will receive an email asking you to complete a survey and upload proof of COVID-19 vaccination, per the Governor’s vaccination mandate.* (*Volunteers may fill out a form requesting a medical or religious exception; however, these will only be considered on an as-needed basis as staff availability allows. Anyone receiving an approved exception will be required to follow a set of increased safety measures when volunteering.)
  4. In addition, all volunteers will need to submit to a fingerprint-based criminal records check by March 28, 2022, in order to continue volunteering. Until this check is completed, volunteers will not be assigned duties that could put them in a situation where they have direct, unsupervised contact with students. If the check is not completed by March 28, 2022, your volunteer status will go from “approved” to “pending” and you will no longer be allowed to volunteer.

Upon successful completion of these requirements and review of the volunteer handbook, the applicant will be approved for volunteering. Please coordinate your volunteer activities directly with the school and follow all site-based rules provided.
