Russian cuisine is, for the most part, hearty and filling . Kasha is a staple food in Russia. Kasha is made from buckwheat, but also used other grains. Curry is a word used in India referring to sauce. All curries are made with a mixture of spices called masala. Many dishes made in India are made with Ghee, a substitute for oil or fat. In China they will eat a bowl of congee for breakfast. Although the Chinese eat few sweets, they do enjoy snacks. Dim sum, steamed dumplings, are delicate pastries filled with meat, fish, vegetables dish surrounded by the soup. In Japan rice is important to the Japanese diet. Soybeans are legumes. Tofu is a custardlike cake from soybeans. Sukiyaki is a popular Japanese dish that combines two cooking method. Japanese farmers grow many vegetables.
Russia's history dates back to many centuries; however Russia has only been independent for only a short period.The Indian people speak over 700 languages and dialects. Religion plays an important part in India's culture. China has a population larger than any other nation. Many notable achievements have taken place in China over the years. In the decades that followed World War II, Japan experienced rapid industrial growth. Today, Japan plays a major role in world affairs.
