For the parents and patrons of the Fulton School District
April 9, 2020
A message from the Superintendent
Dear Parents and Patrons,
I hope and trust our students and families are well and continue actions to stay healthy. Social Distancing and mandatory closures are difficult on all involved. Personally, I know the pandemic has altered my views on a lot of issues and suspect the pandemic will change many traditional activities including how we view school. At present we have many more questions than answers; however, your Administrative Team and Board of Education are reviewing and assessing guidance from various sources to ensure education continues in Fulton. Your Administrative team will provide a review of shutdown activities next Wednesday at the Board’s April 15, 2020 meeting. This will be a virtual meeting --public access can be obtained at this link https://zoom.us/j/197850895?pwd=NEQrMWFBc3d3aWNSMGcyZEZHUDM4Zz09 beginning at 7 p.m.
Several items that may be of immediate interest.
The COVID 19 closure period has been extended through May 1, 2020 and will continually be reviewed for student and staff safety prior to returning to traditional school.
Daily schedules help students stay focused.
A daily schedule outline has been included in parent materials, if assistance is desired please reach out to your principal or teacher.
Teacher office hours are designated throughout the district at 2:00-3:00 p.m. daily. Other times can be arranged if we know your needs.
Additional work can be requested for your student simply by asking the teacher.
Our goal is to return to a ‘normal’ or traditional setting as soon as practical. We appreciate your efforts to keep your kids engaged and positive. Please feel free to reach out to any of the Fulton faculty or staff if we can be of assistance. Schools are closed but various forms of communication are in place and being utilized.
Thank you for sending great students for us to work with! Stay healthy!

Review, Reinforce, Enrich while Maintaining Relationships
On April 6, Fulton Public Schools began reviewing off campus learning alternatives due to the pandemic shut down. The WHY behind the FPS plan is to Review, Reinforce, and Enrich while Maintaining Relationships while being as equitable as possible to ALL students. As indicated, the objective is to keep students engaged at their own level and maintain individual enthusiasm for all educational opportunities The Covid-19 tab on the FPS website is home to all resources, both digital and non-technology choices. These non-tech materials may also be mailed home by request. The resources were chosen to follow the FPS curriculum to help keep our students on track.
If you feel more is needed for your particular child, please contact your child’s teacher, we are glad to provide additional materials. ALL teachers, PreK - 12, have daily office hours scheduled from 2 pm - 3 pm. The teachers are there to help with questions, schedules, create an individualized plan for your child, or just talk. Each building principal is also available for additional support where needed. The email address for each teacher/principal is listed on the FPS website under the Our Schools tab.
