Coat Drive
Our 8th graders are running a coat drive. The coat drive will run until Dec 13th and Mr. Simons and Mr. Gaza will be in the parking lot of Lane on Dec. 14 (Saturday) from 10-12 for anyone who wants to swing by and drop anything off at that time. All donations will be going to the Salvation Army.
FBLA -- Book Drive in January
FBLA has partnered with the Milwaukee Children’s Hospital.
FBLA will be running a book drive in January because Children's Hospital has a book deficit.
We wanted to reach out to everyone before the holiday season in case you plan to get rid of any books that are like new or see any that you would like to donate to the cause. We will have a book drive box coming to room 106 next week!
Books of all kinds and ages! Only request is “like new”
Principal's Message
It was great seeing a full house last night and tonight at Hale for our performance of Frozen Jr.
What a fabulous way to end the week by watching our talented students shine on the stage. Thank you to everyone that was either part of the program or the support crew to the many involved.
Our band and choir students will be performing on Dec 10th in the aux gym. This will be another night filled with music.
.
Parent teacher conferences will be December 12th from 4:30 pm - 8:00 pm. I am looking forward to seeing everyone connecting with staff about learning. I will be meeting with families in the Simons and Gaza house to share Balanced Literacy progress.
Please, take a moment to read and see the great happenings at Lane. I was happy to add the events where student and staff are giving back to others. We have a coat drive currently running and a book drive starting in January. It warms my heart to see us reaching out to the community.

We look forward to seeing everyone on Thursday night. We listened to your feedback. Conferences will be arena style the entire time. The set up will be slightly different due to high attendance in October, so we have moved staff to be in both gyms and the cafe.
Please, enter the cafeteria doors. We will have handouts with staff locations and a map of the school.
Main gym -- Specialists
Aux gym -- 7th and 8th grade staff
Cafe -- 6th grade staff
Book Fair -- Dec 9 - Dec 13
Lane staff and parent volunteers will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair. The fair will be located in room #105. Teachers will have the opportunity to bring their classes to the book fair to peruse materials.
The Book Fair will be open during parent/teacher conferences on Dec 12 4:30 pm - 8:00pm
Students will receive a flyer from their BL teacher promoting the Book Fair. If additional information is needed, please contact Ms. Piotrowski.
Thank you for your support in promoting literacy!
8th Grade -- Career Fair
Just a reminder that all our 8th graders will be involved in their 8th Grade Career Fair on Tuesday, December 10 from 8:35 to 9:40 am. Twenty professionally employed community members will be volunteering their time this morning to present to students in the classrooms.
Thank you to everyone for your support of this event in helping our 8th graders prepare for their futures!
