Instructional Staff Licensure Requirements
As a reminder, all instructional staff who have not been issued an active OSSE-issued license by December 1, 2022, as well as those who hold a Provisional credential or hold a credential outside of the subject area and grade level they currently teach, are out of compliance with licensure requirements.
In compliance with the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) requirements, including the Parent Right to Know provision, DCPS must notify parents and guardians of the licensure status of their child’s teacher. Please note that monthly notifications to families began on Friday, December 16th, and will continue until the individual meets licensure requirements. Staff members who do not hold an active OSSE license may face additional consequences throughout the 2022-2023 school year, including suspension and termination.
