Reentry Plan Update

Message from the Superintendent
Thank you to School Committee, the Reentry Task Force, and the Leadership team for all of their input and work on creating our final plan as well as the Reentry website. You will find the link to our final plan submitted to DESE today as well as the link to our website. We continue to update the website as we receive more guidance and information and develop more school specific information on the start of school.
You will find a link to a very important survey. We are asking for a quick turn around on this so that we can start working at the building level on specifics, including cohorts.
We will be holding Parent Question and Answer sessions both at the district level and building level. We have four one hour in person sessions with district leadership. There are limited spots for each session based on state mandates. The sign up for district Q and A's is below. The building specific Q and A's will be via zoom and the principals will send that information directly to their families.
We want to thank you all for your continued patience and understanding as we move closer to the return to school. We want to recognize that this has been a difficult and challenging summer for us all. We are all on the same page when it comes to our children- we want what is best for them.
Parent Q and A with District Leadership
There will be an opportunity for question and answers with district leadership on August 19th and 20th outside at the Central Office. We will hold four one hour sessions. I have included a link to sign up. You will receive an email with parking instructions once you are signed up for a session. You will need to bring a copy of your sign up confirmation in order to attend the session.
August 19th 3pm to 4pm and 4:15pm to5:15pm
August 20th 3pm to 4pm and 4:15pm to 5:15pm
Question and Answer Sessions with Building Principals
Each building leadership team will hold Q and A evening sessions for parents via zoom. Each principal will send out specific information for sending questions ahead of time and information and the zoom link.
Here are the dates for your planning.
Lynnfield Middle School- August 24th ( grades 5 and 6 at 6pm) (grades 7 and 8 at 7:15pm)
Lynnfield High School- August 25th (grades 9 & 10 at 6pm), (grades 11 &12 at 7:15pm)
Huckleberry Hill and Summer Street School- August 26th ( grade k-2 at 6pm) (grade 3 and 4 at 7:15pm)
Start of School
This phased reentry will be a part of every reentry plan.
Phase One:
August 31st to September 15th - Teacher Professional Development
Phase Two:
September 9th-15th- Student Orientation for all students
September 16th - First day of school for students
School Nurses- Per Diem
We are looking for three nurses on a per diem basis to support our School Nurses. If you are interested, please email me and I will provide you with the job posting.
Back to School Care Package
Lindsay Hale, a Occupational Therapist at the Summer School shared this resource with us this week. I thought it was terrific and wanted to share it with you all! There are activities that are more appropriate for younger children however there are is information that is relevant and helpful for us all.
