Student Monitoring Reminders
- Never leave your class unattended. Seriously. Even for a minute. I promise unfortunate events take only seconds and it can happen in a class of really great kids.
- Be in the hallways during passing periods and stand where you can also see in your classroom.
- Review your lunch times. Do not release early. Times are designed to facilitate safe traffic flow.
- Return from lunch on time so students aren't unattended.
- The back staircase (by the counselors) is now closed before first period and during lunches.
- After Spring Break, we will begin a "first 10, last 10" rule, which means no hall passes during the first or last 10 minutes of class. Be talking to your students now about this so they understand. They can't walk the hallways for 4 minutes and then run into class and ask to use the restroom.
- I want to be mindful that kids want a bit of social time between classes, but they also can't block the hallways or become disruptive. Your monitoring and use of good judgement to know when to help kids to class is important.
Campus Celebrations! Give this a try!
Sandra Dargel learned about this at TCEA and brought it back for our school. Thanks, Sandra!
May 28 Comp Day
To receive credit for the Comp. Day, we will need the “official” certificate of completion to be turned in to Jenny Zornes. Earlier in the Fall, a majority of the staff “screened shot” the enrollment, but we are now needing to get the official Certificate sent to Jenny by March 27th. If you follow the directions below, it takes about 5 minutes to print the certificate through Strive.
How to print the certificate

Kudos!
Thank you to Coach Wandersee and our amazing Cockrill PALs for the Special Olympics pep rally!! Not only did they come up with the idea for the pep rally but they spent a lot of time learning details to share about each one of our students. For many of the PALs it was a big step out of their comfort zone to talk in front of a crowd and they all did a fantastic job! On the day of Special Olympics our students were so excited to see the good luck posters hanging in the hallways. After a long day of competing in events our students were so overwhelmed with pride as the PALs welcomed them back in a high five tunnel leading the cafeteria in applause and cheers. It was truly an uplifting moment that they will carry with them for a long time.
Sincerely, The FAC & STC Teachers & Paras
