Trimester 2 Ends

View the full calendar at the District website

Our next round of student/parent-/teacher conferences is around the corner on Monday, March 1st. That day will be a non-attendance day for our students, and all conferences will conducted via Zoom.

Please remember that a conference with your child’s teacher is a most effective way for teachers, students, and parents to celebrate areas of strength, address areas of concern, and set goals – a powerful process to motivate and help our students think about and take responsibility for their own learning.

If you haven’t received one already, a conference sign-up notification will soon be coming your way from your child’s teacher.

Picture Retake Day and Ordering Information

Glen Grove RETAKE Picture Day is Friday, February 19th for all students.

If your child had their picture taken in November and they are requesting a retake, they need to bring their original picture package to the photographer on February19th.

Any student who missed Picture Day in November is welcome to have their photo taken.

Students will have their picture taken at school in the Glen Grove Gym during their in-person time.

GOAL students are welcome to have their picture taken/retaken at Glen Grove from 10:30AM – 11:30AM on February 19th . If this time does not work, please call the office at (847) 998-5030 to make other arrangements.

Students should enter at Door A, the main door in the circular drive in front of the school. All students and visitors must complete the Health Assessment. Blank forms will be available at the door.

Let's Document This Historic Year!

While it seems like a year full of challenges, we’ll want to remember our resilience during this historic year! Help our amazing parent volunteers -- Carmela and Kim -- create yearbooks for Westbrook and Glen Grove by submitting your photos of this year’s dress up days, your student’s e-learning spot, Halloween, and other school-related photos to the following emails: OR

Some students were not able to participate in photo day. Therefore our yearbook volunteers will not have their “class” photo from Color Portraits. If this is your situation and you would like to submit a headshot of your student, please clearly mark your email “Headshot Photo” and include your student’s full name, grade and teacher along with the photo. You can attach additional yearbook photos to your email as well - just make sure the headshot photo is clearly labeled. All photos will be included, although we have to work within the capabilities of TreeRing and headshots submitted this way may have to go on a separate page. We will do our best! We appreciate your understanding.

February raffle questions? Email

Don't Forget to Self-Assess!

When your child comes to Glen Grove, the student self-assessment needs to be completed BEFORE YOUR STUDENT LEAVES FOR SCHOOL so that it shows up in our system by the time your child arrives.

Thank you in advance - this eliminates the need for your child to stand in line unnecessarily!

Log in to District 34's PowerSchool web portal to complete the self-certification tool.

Click on the SELF-ASSESSMENT link on the home page to submit your child’s temperature and answer questions about COVID-19 symptoms and exposure. Click submit. If you have multiple students in District 34 attending in-person on the same day, click on each student to fill out the self-assessment for them as well.

Please note that the question about domestic travel has changed.

When students arrive at school, a staff member will scan their ipad barcode or bus pass barcode to confirm completion of the self-certification process.

Big picture
If it has not been completed, a staff member will conduct a temperature check and screening. If the screening indicates COVID-19 symptoms, the health office will immediately send the student to the infirmary and contact the parent or guardian to pick up the student.

Please be sure to send your child to school with their iPad, water bottle and mask.

Masks are required at all times when students are in our buildings. The District has provided cloth masks for every student and staff member; disposable masks will be available in our buildings for those who need them.

If your child rides the bus, they must wear their mask and remain in their assigned seat.

Thank you for helping to keep our school safe!

From the Nurse's Office

If you need any help or support during this difficult time of the pandemic, please do not hesitate to call Jennifer Hastings, RN, our Health Coordinator, at (847) 657-2394.

Health Office Information

Students requiring any medications during school hours must file an "Authorization & Permission for Administration of Medicine" form with the health office. This form requires a physician’s signature as well as a parent’s signature. This form can be found here, under the Health section on the Forms & Documents page on the district website. All medication brought to school must be in an appropriately labeled pharmacy container. This also includes over-the-counter medicine such as Tylenol, Advil, cough drops, etc.

All student absences should be called into the health office at (847) 657-2394! In addition, please call if you will be bringing your child in late or picking them up early. The school has voicemail so parents can call the health office to leave messages at any time.

Mandatory Health Forms for 2021-2022 Incoming 6th Graders

All incoming 6th grade students MUST have a physical examination (within the last 12 months), including required vaccinations, turned in prior to August 18, 2021. Your child will NOT be able to start school until the physical form is turned in. If your child's health forms are already complete, you can turn them into the Glen Grove health office any time between now and the last day of school. They will be forwarded to your child's middle school with their health file. If you have any questions, please call Mrs. Hastings, Health Coordinator, at (847) 657-2394. Click here for the health exam form.
