From the Principal:
Welcome Friday and an upcoming three day weekend!
Our district is now at a Covid Response Level 4 - effective Friday, January 14, 2022.
Things that we will see adjusted at Collins due to this:
- Meetings Virtually (Parent Meetings, 504, SPED)
- Visitors, guests, volunteers restricted
- Lunch visits suspended
- Contactless outside deliveries
If your child has a fever or other symptoms that could be from COVID-19 and does not get tested OR is not cleared by their healthcare provider, it is assumed the child has COVID-19 and may not return to school until they meet re-entry criteria. A student may return to school after at least 10 days have passed since the onset of symptoms, at least 24 hours fever free has passed without the use of fever-reducing medications, and your symptoms are improving.
If we are smart - if we give extra care and effort - then we have hope to keep Collins staff and students as healthy and safe as possible.
Wishing you a safe and healthy upcoming weekend,
Shelli LeBlanc

MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. DAY
There is no school on January 17th. It is a day we reflect and remember Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
"Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Hate multiplies hate, violence multiplies violence, and toughness multiplies toughness in a descending spiral of destruction."
—Martin Luther King, Jr., "Loving Your Enemies," in Strength to Love.
The ultimate test of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and moments of convenience, but where he stands in moments of challenge and moments of controversy.
—The Struggle for Racial Justice, Address delivered at Nobel Peace Prize Recognition Dinner, 27 January 1965
