Dear Johnson & Hardwick Resident!


As the end of the semester approaches, we want to prepare you for moving out of the building. Starting today (4/27/15) until Friday, May 1, 2015 you can visit the front office to sign up for a checkout appointment through the front desk. *Please note that ALL residents MUST visit the front desk to either sign up for a traditional check out or communicate that you are intending to conduct an express checkout. To avoid any checkout fees, each resident should ensure they are signed up by 7:00pm on Friday, May 1, 2015.


Residents will be able to begin moving out of the building on Thursday, April 30, 2015. Our checkout times span from 9:30am-10:00pm. Consult with your Resident Assistant in the event you need to checkout outside of this time frame due to travel.


Residents are required to meet in the LOBBY at least 5 minutes in advance to their selected checkout time. A staff member will then meet with you to inspect the condition of your space in comparison to when you initially moved into building. Ensure that all items have been removed from your space in order for the checkout to occur. At the end of the email, you will find a video providing useful steps to cleaning your room.

Mail Forwarding

Residents are encourage to visit a local United States Postal Service office or www.moversguide.com to forward all mail to your summer address. Any mail or packages received after May 5, 2015 will be marked as returned to sender. Please take the time to ensure that you have properly communicated your forwarding address to the postal services as well as update all shipping addresses as needed.

What is the difference between Traditional & Express Checkouts?

Great Question!

A traditional checkout indicates that you have set up an appointment through the front desk to checkout with a Resident Assistant. This is an onsite checkout in which a staff member walks through the room in the presence of the resident to inspect current conditions.


An express checkout on the other hand, should simply just be communicated to the front desk so that residents can be advised of the necessary steps. Residents electing to do this process should place their key into the provided envelop, complete the information on the front, and place into the drop box. The express checkout is a convenient process for individuals to leave at any hour of the day without formally walking through with an RA. Please note that express checkouts may void an appeal rights to damages billed.
