BEHAVIOR DATA
Over the past month we have noticed a significant increase in physical aggression amongst our students. A majority of these infractions are not malicious in intent. Physical aggression at this age is typically due to frustration in a situation or a student not knowing how to express themself. As a staff, we work in school to teach our students the right way to handle these situations without physical aggression, but we need your help at home!
Please remind your children that physical aggression at school is not acceptable. If your child is frustrated or another student is bothering them, they must seek an adult to help them. They should never take the situation into their own hands.
Additionally, I have received numerous calls from parents that have expressed concern that their child told an adult about a situation and their child has expressed the adult did nothing. Student discipline is confidential. Just because your child did not see something happen instantly, it does not mean that disciplinary consequences have not occurred. Often times, the teacher/staff will report the situation to me or our Student Support Specialist and we address the situation. Thank you for your understanding.
