News from Mrs. Thomas (IHES Art Teacher)

Due to the timing of my maternity leave, we will not be hosting our annual Evening of the Arts this year. My HOPE is to offer frames for sale in some form or fashion once I return, however this is not a promise. As always, all artwork will be returned to our students at the end of the school year in their art portfolios.

4th and 5th Grade Spring Musical

The 4th and 5th grade musical, Joust: A Mighty Medieval Musical, will be performed at Sullivan Middle School on Tuesday, March 29 at 7PM.

Wear Red Day

Let’s unite to prevent heart disease and stroke…

National Wear RED Day, Feb. 5th, 2016

Our mothers, daughters, sisters, friends, and coworkers are at risk. Heart disease and stroke cause 1 in 3 deaths among women each year – more than all cancers combined. Fortunately, we can change that because 80 percent of cardiac events can be prevented with education and lifestyle changes.

Get informed about the risks of heart disease and stroke. Know the red flags. Know your heart health story. Jump Rope for Heart is working to teach young people how to live heart healthy lives and challenging them to help teach others.

Our WEAR RED campaign allows the American Heart Association to reach our school family through weekly educational emails during the month of Feb. to teach them how to live a heart healthy life! United, we are working to improve the health of women and children in your community.

The American Heart Association wants to unite our staff, parents and students, to help support National Wear Red Day. Make a donation of at least $15 and receive this years red AHA shirt. This donation will not only go to support heart and stroke education and research but will also be added to our school’s Jump Rope/Hoops for Heart campaign to help earn PE Equipment for your school.

If you would like a shirt please return the form below with a minimum of a $15 donation. Make checks payable to JRFH. Return to Ms. Roof by January 19th.
