Music Teacher at Hightower Elementary in Plano!
Taught for 25 years
Favorite folk song – SOOO Many! For teaching – Shanghai Chicken, Ida Red, Canoe Song (although its origin is suspect!), Black Snake, Shoo Fly, Alabama Gal, Son Macaron, Chicken on a Fencepost, Kokoleopo. For personal enjoyment – Sisters Now Our Meeting is Over, Lady, A La Puerta Del Cielo, Who Killed Cock Robin, Lavender’s Blue.
Teaching style – Kodaly
Fun facts – All 3 of my grown children are teachers and 2 of them are choir directors J Tom & Wini Council were my choir director and voice teacher in high school. Their son, Doug, taught my son when he was in high school choir. Small world!
I love what I do every day! And, I love seeing the new things young teachers are doing with their students! As long as my students continue to love music as they grow up, I’ll be happy.
We'd Like to Meet You!
