Newsletter for March 2022
A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Hello Torrey Hill Families!
1- AHA Fundraiser Update- I wanted to share a huge THANK YOU to everyone for a successful American Heart Association (AHA) fundraising event. Mrs. Pattison, our PE teacher, led the charge and through the AHA online system, we collected almost $13,000 toward this amazing cause! Wow! I am in awe of your generosity as this is the most successful "outside" fundraiser in which we've participated.
I am happy to report the following:
1st Place Classroom- Mrs. Ramoie-3rd Grade
2nd Place Classroom-Mrs. Piper-4th Grade
3rd Place Classroom-Mrs. Hoedeman-5th Grade
Again, thank you so much for being a part of this amazing fundraiser to support AHA!
2- March Is Reading Month- We have so many amazing events, including a used book drive occurring this month. Please refer to the calendar below. Special thanks go out to Mrs. Jenio and our building ELA Curriculum Coordinators, Mrs. Beaudry and Ms. Sabourin.
3- Active Schools Challenge- We are hoping your students have shared they not only have reading goals this month but also exercise goals. Feel free to inspire them (and/or join in) on a 30 minute per day challenge to exercise.
4- Did you know Mrs. Beaudry is our new W.I.N.N. Lead teacher? W.I.N.N. stands for What I Need Now. Mrs. Beaudry is overseeing the intervention team and has already brought many wonderful enhancements to our already strong program. Feel free to attend the Board of Education meeting next Monday night as Mrs. Yeaster, new West Shore Principal, and I will be giving an overview of the program.
Best,
Mrs. Kathleen Conover

Change In End Of Day Pick Up?
Any bus changes must be approved by the principal at least 24 hours in advance. Students are not allowed to take alternative buses home unless their is an emergency situation. Please do not use bus transportation as a means of transporting friends for after school social or extracurricular events. Our buses have capacity limits and we cannot add students to bus routes. We care about the safety of our students and therefore must closely monitor ridership on our school buses.
