Dear Families,
Thank you for your continued support as we have worked together over the past several months to ensure the success of our students, staff, and community. I am proud of the work we have done. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving break full of friends, fun, family, and more!
This next week, we have Site Council at 4:00 on Wednesday, our Late Start collaboration time on Thursday, and our "Celebrate Winter" PTA Family Engagement Night on Thursday from 5-7@ LES. There is still time to sign up to help at the Family Engagement Night: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090E4EADAF2FA0FA7-celebrate
When we return from Thanksgiving break, we will start our Winter Benchmark Assessments. Students will be assessed over academic and behavior/ social emotional learning progress. Families will need to opt- in any second and/or third graders taking the MySAEBRS.

Reminders:
Lost and Found items are available outside our visitors' center. Please stop by if you are missing any items!
Standards-Based Grading information can be found below. We have transitioned from letter grades to standards-based grading as a K-5 system.
Safety: We have implemented increased security measures. Visitors will not be allowed to enter the building during arrival or dismissal. All visitors will need to call ahead or use the door bell at the entrance.
Attendance- Please call us at 913-727-1128 in the event your student will not be at school, will be in to school late, or will need to leave early.
Traffic: Please remain in your vehicles during car-rider pick up. Thank you for following our traffic protocol.
Going Home: Please remember to call in any ride changes before 3 PM. The number to call is 913-727-1128.
Bus Transportation: must be pre-arranged by families. If your student rides the bus, you may want to use the Compass app (see info below). This provides parents and guardians about bus information in real-time.
Breakfast/Lunch: School meals are available for purchase this year. Information about free and/or reduced meals can be found here:

Our next PTA meeting is December 15 in the LES library. Doors open at 6:00 for social time and the meeting starts at 6:30. Free childcare is available. If you are interested in joining, you can still do that. https://lansingpta.memberhub.co

Before/After School care: Please see Y-care flyers below. Parents/Guardians using Y-care, this year, will enter on the west side (2nd and 3rd grade side) through doors 20 & 21. If you need care on late start days, please find information below.

Lansing PTA K-5 invites you to join us as we "Celebrate Winter". On December 1 (5-7pm @ Lansing Elementary School), we will be kicking off the winter season with crafts, entertainment, and treats. In the cafeteria, Ceramic Cafe will be offering ornament painting for $12.50. Lansing Parks & Rec will also be in attendance offering a free craft. While you are creating, you can enjoy some winter treats at our concession stand and take a chance at winning a prize at the raffle table. (These paid activities will help support Lansing PTA K-5 programs.) At 6:00 in the gym, the Stone Lion Puppets will be performing "Snow". Admission to the show is free. It is sure to be a wonderful evening celebrating the joys of winter.
**Pre-ordered KC Cups fundraiser items will be available for pickup at this event.**
