Parents! We need your help!

MES is now a "The Leader in Me" school!



Dear Parents and Guardians:


Milan Elementary is excited to be implementing a whole-school transformational process called The Leader in Me. The goal of this Franklin Covey developed program is to teach 21st century leadership and life skills to students and create a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader.


As we begin this character development program, we are conducting an assessment to aid us in tracking important areas of growth and to measure the impact The Leader in Me has on aspects of academics and culture within our school. To gain multiple perspectives about our school’s growth, we are asking all parents/guardians, students in grade 4, and all full-time school staff members to participate.


We would appreciate your help in completing this totally voluntary survey. You will not be asked to share your name, your student’s name, or any other personally identifying information. We sincerely hope to get feedback from every student's household as your thoughts are important to us and will be extremely valuable as we go through this growth process.


The survey takes about 12 minutes to complete and will ask you some questions about your child and about MES. If you have more than one child attending our school, you are asked to think about the oldest child as you answer questions related to their growth. (A listing of all survey questions can be emailed upon request or can be viewed in the front office before or after school.)


We thank you in advance for your participation. Your time in taking this short survey is greatly appreciated and will help us meet our goal of bringing out the leader in every student. Principal Muriel Summers of A.B. Combs Elementary, a Leader in Me school, said it so well when she stated, “We only get one chance to prepare children for a world none of us can possibly predict, what are we going to do with that one chance?”
