Clinton Cougar Newsletter

February 2023

Dear Clinton Families,

With the recent approval of the bond for Davis District, Clinton Elementary is first on the list for a remodel. The district is currently working through the bid process, and we expect work to begin in the next 6-9 months. There will be several facets to this project, but one will be to improve the drop-off and pick-up zone. For the time being, please continue to use caution and patience when picking up and dropping off students.

On March 2nd from 5:00-6:15, we will be hosting a fun hands-on-learning night for the whole family. We hope you will put it on your calendar and plan to join us.

We want to continue to encourage regular attendance at school. Students learn and grow when they are here. As a little added incentive, we are offering an extra field trip or special activity for the grade level with the best attendance during 3rd term.

Since it's cold outside, it's the perfect time to cozy up with a good book! Have a wonderful February.

Sincerely,

Julie Lundell

Principal Clinton Elementary

Counselor's Corner

For the month of February we are continuing to learn about study skills to be a successful student. We are using FOCUS to help us.

F= Face it, face the teacher, face your work

O=Organize it, organize your space and your speed.

C= Conquer any negativity towards getting work done.

U=Understand, hear everything you read in your head, hear the teacher.

S=Scan. Check your work.

Friday School Spirit Day!

Our classes are having a school spirit competition each Friday to see who can show the most school spirit. Students should wear a school shirt, blue shirt, or grey shirt in order to be counted towards the class total for the most amazing school spirit. The winning class gets to display the spirit wreath for the following week.

Fieldtrip Chaperones and Volunteers

If you are interested in being a volunteer or fieldtrip chaperone, then you need to complete a Davis School District background check. These can take some time to get an appointment, and have completed, so earlier is better. There is a one time cost of $28. Please let Mrs. Lundell know if you need help with the fee.

You must call for an appointment with the Davis Human Resource Department for a background check. 801-402-5722 or use the online scheduler.

First Floor

45 East State Street

Farmington, Utah 84025-0588

Bring valid ID

Once a volunteer has successfully completed the background check, it is valid indefinitely, according to current state law. The background check will allow you to volunteer for any of your children for as long as they are in the Davis School District.
