A Note from the Director
I've had the opportunity to visit many of our classrooms to talk about our schoolwide guidelines of Be Safe; Be Kind; Do Your Best. I've shared how making those good choices help our teachers and us to feel "warm and fuzzy" inside. We're working as classes to earn warm fuzzy pom poms to fill our classroom jars up and earn a special surprise! As I was preparing to share this information with 3-5 year olds, though, I struggled with how to describe what "do your best" means in preschool, but settled on trying hard and doing our best work on all of our jobs. When I asked students what that could mean, some talked about cleaning up their own messes, sharing the toys, listening to the teacher, and not laying on the floor when it's circle time. All good answers! But, perhaps my favorite idea was when one of the students mentioned trying to be the best friend he could be. What a great answer! Wouldn't the world be a better place if we would all just do our best to be a good friend to everyone? Thanks for sending us your children to teach and to care for at Liberty!
