From Molecules to Living Systems
We are close to the end of our study on cellular respiration. This week Adventurers completed a lab activity to demonstrate how the concentration of oxygen or carbon dioxide changes as cellular respiration is taking place. We compared the rate of cellular respiration (slope of the graph) between germinating and non germinating seeds. We will finish cellular respiration next week and start a unit on DNA/RNA and protein synthesis.

Water in Our Environment
Finishing up our discussion on the water cycle and sources, next week we'll explore efficient freshwater use. A field trip to the Collierville water treatment facility is planned to introduce students to how water is treated and reintegrated into the cycle.
Russian
In our Russian studies this week, we're delving into the captivating theme of "Appearance." Our discussions include a rich vocabulary exploration encompassing facial features, the nuanced construction of "he/she has," and the use of adjectives to vividly describe appearance. Additionally, we're immersing ourselves in the cultural aspect, exploring the typical appearance associated with Russian individuals.
Guitar and Ukelele
In our guitar/ukulele session this week, we delved into the soulful melody of "Tennessee Whiskey" by Chris Stapleton. Students honed their skills in deciphering tablature, mastering intricate rhythms, and adding new chords to their repertoire.
