"WIN" Time at Sunset Ranch

On top of the differentiated instruction that all teachers provide throughout each every day, in order to truly meet the needs of all students within our MTSS (Multi-tiered Systems of Support), students at all elementary schools in Rocklin Unified are participating in a “walk to learn” model. This provides students with more in depth support, as well as opportunities for extended, deepened learning. We use data to determine exactly where our students needs lie, and then are able to target instruction to meet those needs and help students develop the next set of skills in their progress toward proficiency.

WIN time at Sunset Ranch occurs Tuesday-Friday during grade-level time blocks of approximately 40 minutes per session. Students “shuffle” or “walk to learn” with other grade-level students to groups/instructors prepared with specific materials and lessons geared for them. It truly is a WIN-WIN time!

Check out our Family MTSS Website to learn more about MTSS and many ways you can help support your child at home, too!

Sunset Ranch Shout Out- Supervision Aides are Super Heroes!

Special Shout Out to our Supervision Aides here at Sunset Ranch. They keep our students safe at recess and lunch each day, while enduring the heat, weather or whatever comes! Their effort does not go unnoticed and we appreciate them so much. You'll even catch Principal Kircher out there! THANKS FOR BEING SO SUPER!!

SRES School Site Council- Taking Nominations Now!

Partnering with you is a top priority for the success of our students and school. Therefore, Sunset Ranch is in the process of nominating and electing four new members to the School Site Council (SSC) for the 2022-2023 school year with a 2-year term commitment. The purpose of the SSC is to develop and approve the School Plan for Student Achievement; which is a comprehensive plan designed to improve the effectiveness of the school program and is in alignment with our Strategic Plan. The SSC also supplies input on the Safety Plan and RUSD Local Control Accountability Plan. In order to accomplish these tasks, the SSC meets four times a year to assess student needs, develop and approve the plans, and monitor progress.

The selection of members is a two-part process. First, the nomination process will be open now through September 30th at 4 p.m. Please submit your name and information in this FORM to self-nominate or nominate someone other than yourself. The school site will contact each nominee prior to placing names on the ballot for an election. Second, the election process will be open from October 3rd through October 10th. At that time, another email will be sent for voting. The nominee with the highest number of votes will be elected to the SSC for a 2-year term commitment.

SSC meetings are 3:10 - 4:30 p.m. on 11/28/22, 2/13/23, and 4/24/22 at Sunset Ranch in the Administration Building Conference Room. And new members will attend a district training on October 17th at 3:00pm.

If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Kircher at lkircher@rocklinusd.org
