Weekly Update
What a wild week to start of 2022! Thank you for your flexibility and patience this week as the weather has caused us to have to adjust our schedules to ensure safety for our students and staff. Despite the alternate schedules, students have been jumping back into learning this week. All grades are starting a new unit in math this week, and I am excited to see them learn new skills!
Food Drive
Elk Ridge is excited to be collecting for the Buckley Food Bank for the month of January! Each classroom will have a collection bin that students can bring their donations. Classroom donations will be counted each Friday this month and running totals will be announced during Monday morning announcements. Please see more information below in regards to specific needs the Buckley Food Bank has. Thank you for your support!
Volunteers
We are now able to welcome volunteers back into the building! If you are interested in volunteering at Elk Ridge, please fill out a Volunteer Application through our Frontline Hiring system. Specific information regarding volunteer requirements is available there.
Thank you, Ranger Families, for your partnership and support!
February 8th Levies: Our kids. Our schools. Our community.
White River School District is running two measures in the February 8 election to continue funding that supports our students.
Proposition 1: an Educational Programs & Operations (EP&O) replacement levy continues funding for early learning, Special Education, athletics, extracurriculars and staff.
Proposition 2: a Capital Replacement levy that continues funding for technology, facility improvements, and structural, safety and energy repairs at White River High School.
Learn more about the measures at https://bit.ly/Feb2022levies.
We will be hosting a Community Cafe in the Elk Ridge Library on January 13th from 8:00-9:00 am. This is open to all parents and community members. This is an opportunity for our district team to provide factual information about the levy measures and answer any questions. Please come and get information on these important measures and enjoy some coffee and pastries!
Reminders
- Please contact the office if there are any changes to your child's end of day transportation for the day.
- Cloth face coverings or disposable face masks cloth face coverings are required indoors and are optional for students outdoors. (A cloth face covering is anything that completely covers the mouth and nose, fits securely, and is made of tightly woven fabric.)
- Please keep your child home when they are sick or have been exposed to COVID. If your student has been exposed to COVID, please call the office to let us know. Thank you!
- Please be mindful during arrival and drop-off times, whether you are on our campus or on a neighboring street. Our goal is for students to arrive and leave school safely each day! Please remember that drop off is not a place to park. If you are here early and want to wait until the bell rings to send your student out, please park in the parking lot rather than waiting in the drop off loop. Thank you!
