Coastal Plains Region
The coastal plains region takes up about a third of Texas. Most of the large cities in Texas are in the coastal plains region. About every two out of three Texans live in the coastal plains region. About more than half of the population in the coastal plains contains hispanic people. The industries in this region contain of lumbering, wood products, farming, ranching, oil refining, shipping, and the fishing industry. The landscape ranges from completely flat to rolling hills.
Major Cities
The major cities in this region are Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and Austin. Austin is know as the capital, Houston is known as a port city, Dallas is known for business and San Antonio is known for its attractions.
Geographic Features
The geographic features in this region consist of flat land, and some hills.
State or National Park
There is quite a bunch of parks in the coastal plains region, and here are a few of them, the Brazos Bend State Park, the Davis Mountains State Park, and the Galveston Island State Park. All of these parks have special animals and activities that you can see and do.
