Trice As Nice
Week of February 12-16, 2018
SHOUT OUT!
Trice Team!
Thank you everyone for pitching in where you were needed last week. We had numerous staff members out due to the flu, and you all stepped in to ensure that students were supervised and that lesson plans were in the hands of the substitute teachers. Thank you to the Arts team and Ms. Berry for helping in the bus room. We had all 4 of our bus room staff members out at one point last week, and I appreciate how you jumped in to help make sure the students got on the bus safely. Thank you to all the grade level teachers for taking extra students when a substitute didn't show up and making sure substitute teachers had everything they needed when they arrived to cover a class. Thank you all for making Trice such a great place to work!
Lending Closet & Lost and Found
Ms. Grimes and Ms. Becky have taken over the lost and found and begun to organize and donate items that have not been claimed since the early months of school. Thank you ladies for taking on a much needed and thankless task.
Please remind your students to look on the lost and found rack as well as hang up items that they find or that may be lying on the floor.

Little known Valentine's Day facts:
*Many believe the X symbol became synonymous with the kiss in medieval times. People who couldn't write their names signed in front of a witness with an X. The X was then kissed to show their sincerity.
*In the Middle Ages, young men and women drew names from a bowl to see who would be their Valentine. They would wear this name pinned onto their sleeves for one week for everyone to see. This was the origin of the expression "to wear your heart on your sleeve."
*Richard Cadbury produced the first box of chocolates for this holiday in the late 1800s.
