Instructional Focus:

What a day! Today was the Mobilize event put on by Central Christian Church, and it was truly an amazing morning. I know with all that's going on in the world of education right now, it's easy to not feel appreciated. Please know that it won't dominate the headlines, but we had over 80 people show up to our event today, most were total strangers. They worked their tails off to help give our students the best.

As the end of the year starts to creep into view, please continue to let our students know that there is still learning to be done. During this time of year, student misbehavior tends to increase. Keep your routines as much as possible, allow for some student autonomy, keep students engaged, and consistently remind them of the rules/expectations for behavior.

On a side note, as teachers we tend to "wait until next year" with new ideas we want to try. If you want to try out something new, try it at the end of the year. This year's students will love trying something new, and you can "get the kinks out" before next year. Remember that failure is essential in the learning process, so don't be afraid to "fail forward."
