Exactly what is the drug?
Alcohol is a liquid that is a depressant that calms you down and can lessen your pain. When you drink too much your movements are slower and you do not speak as well. Your reaction time is slowed down. Also your mind does not function as well when you drink too much.
How is the drug taken into the body?
Orally and ingested into the stomach and intestine

How does the drug affect the body?
Short term- vomiting, slurred speech, breathing difficulties
Long term- nerve damage,stroke, liver disease

- using it in dangerous physical situations, ie drunk driving
Dependence/Addiction
Dependent > No control, blackouts problems
Addiction > personal relationships and social standing are affected
